A 19-year-old member of the Canadian Forces is facing charges after York Regional Police say he pointed a laser-sighted pellet gun at a police helicopter, endangering the pilots.
York Regional Police helicopter Air2 was near Pine Valley on Highway 7 on Sunday helping with a weapons call when they were “struck by an unrelated bright light source,” police said. The officers in the chopper turned their attention to the light, using their night-vision camera system to focus in on three men standing behind a parked vehicle. One of the men was pointing a laser-sighted gun at the chopper, police said.
The officers in the helicopter directed officers on the ground to the suspect, who ran, jumped over a fence into a wooded area and tossed the laser-sighted pellet gun. Metro News Read More>>>>>
