Europa
Saturn and Jupiter may have moons that harbour alien life.
These icy worlds have evidence of vast oceans beneath their surface, which scientists say could contain extraterrestrial microbes.
In an attempt to find out, Cassini today made a dive into the plumes of water, ice and organic matter blasting from Saturn's small moon Enceladus.
A separate study has also pinpointed an area on Jupiter's moon, Europa, which may be an ideal place for future missions to look for alien life.
Only a drop of water has been collected during the 19,000 mph (30,600 kph) Enceladus flyby, which took place at 11:22am ET (3:22pm GMT).
Scientists say that will be enough to answer some key questions about Enceladus.
But Nasa has warned that they may take several months to review their data before making any announcements.
'This is a very big step in a new era of exploring ocean worlds in our solar system bodies with great potential to provide oases for life,' said Curt Niebur, program scientist for the Cassini mission. Daily Mail Read More>>>>
