Delta flight makes emergency landing in Nashville after entire engine cover is ripped off in heavy turbulence
A Delta flight with more than 100 passengers on board was forced to make an emergency landing in Nashville after turbulence ripped off the engine cover.
The Delta Flight 762 was travelling from Atlanta to Chicago on Mother's Day when it hit turbulence at 28,000 feet, over Cleveland.
The cowling (engine cover) flew off and hit part of the fuselage, leaving marks that could be seen when the plane landed.
The engine lights immediately went on and the pilot was forced to land the plane unexpectedly at Nashville International Airport, WTVF reported.
But the 109 passengers on board and five crew made it down safely, according to a statement released by Delta.
Delta has now launched an investigation into what caused the fault. Daily Mail Read More>>>>>
