A Florida-bound plane still at the gate of New York's LaGuardia Airport has been evacuated after its crew reported heavy smoke emanating from the aircraft. The New York Daily News reports that non of the 228 passengers or seven crew members were injured. All exited the Spirit Airlines plane on flight 197 to Fort Lauderdale, Florida after passengers started seeing smoke coming from the left side about 11 a.m. But a spokeswoman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which operates the airport, says firefighters didn't find any smoke when they responded to the Spirit Airlines plane on Saturday morning.
